Welcome to Equity Scholar Education ("ESE"). These terms apply to everyone who uses our website, booking form, and tutoring portal. By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.

Who we are

ESE is a not-for-profit corporation incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (No. 17113293), based in Toronto, Ontario. We provide free, volunteer-run, peer-to-peer tutoring for students in grades 4 to 8.

Our services are free

All tutoring offered through ESE is provided at no cost. We will never ask students or families to pay for tutoring.

Eligibility and accounts

  • Students request tutoring through our booking form. A parent or guardian should submit or approve the request for any student under 18.

  • Volunteer tutors register separately and are reviewed and approved by an ESE administrator before they can be matched with students.

  • Tutors are responsible for keeping their login secure and for the accuracy of the volunteer hours they log.

Acceptable use

When using ESE services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information.

  • Treat students, tutors, and staff with respect.

  • Use the portal and any shared student information only for the purpose of delivering or receiving tutoring.

  • Not share another person's personal information outside of ESE.

We may suspend or remove any account that misuses the service, behaves inappropriately, or puts a student's safety or privacy at risk.

Volunteer hours

Volunteer hours logged by tutors are reviewed by ESE administrators before they are confirmed. ESE makes reasonable efforts to keep these records accurate, but final recognition of hours is at ESE's discretion.

Tutoring is a best-effort service

ESE connects students with volunteer tutors. We do not guarantee specific academic results, tutor availability, or session outcomes. Tutoring supplements but does not replace a student's regular schooling.

Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on our website with its effective date.
